Our why.

“Chasing unreasonable expectations has left many families feeling exhausted…..guilt and shame have become pervasive, often leading [parents] to hide their struggles, which perpetuates a vicious cycle where stress leads to guilt which leads to more stress….Something has to change.”

Vivek H. Murthy, M.D., M.B.A.

19th and 21st Surgeon General of the United States Vice Admiral, United States Public Health Service

Our belief in you.

You are capable of so much. Even in your darkest moments you have found a way.

You are resourceful. You are resilient. You are persistent. You rise again and again. Digging deeper, finding strength and endurance you didn’t know you had.

You are travelling this life as best you can. In an unfair world. In systems that are rarely designed to serve you.

And still you love. And nurture. And cherish. Giving more than you will get. Knowing it’s a privilege to do so. Knowing that soon they will be gone.

You, are our heroes. You are the reason we do this work. And you can do extraordinary things.

Our Founder.

Jess Lancashire

After 20+ years building a corporate career, motherhood set Jess on a new path. Having found it impossible to combine the work she loved with taking care of the people she loved, Jess decided it was time to get the bottom of what needs to change.

Starting in 2020 and working with thousands of parents and leaders. Drawing on a wide range of science including anthropology, psychotherapy and sociology. Her work led her to the root causes of the challenges many parents face in the workplace, and she set about finding the solutions we all need.

Working Parent Network was born from this work and focuses on making these solutions accessible to parents - wherever they live, whatever they do and whoever they are.

As a military family, Jess, her husband Tony and their two boys are lucky enough to live in different countries. After 3 years in Portugal, they are now in Norway and don’t know where life will take them next. Aside from her work and her family, Jess also loves swimming in the fjord, yoga and a good book.

You can connect with Jess on LinkedIn.  Jess loves any opportunity to talk about the work we do - if you'd like her to talk at your event or in your organisation please email us at hello@workingparentnetwork.com.
